ST. GEORGE — A sedan rolled over and ended up on the shoulder on southbound Interstate 15 on Tuesday night in the area just before vehicles exit the Virgin River Gorge.
Authorities did not say what caused the rollover, which involved one vehicle, between mile markers 14 and 13 on I-15 about four miles from Littlefield, Arizona. The driver, the vehicle’s only passenger, was treated for minor injuries.
Along with the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Beaver Dam/Littlefield Fire Department responded.
“There was no extraction,” Jeff Hunt, chief of the fire department, said. “One male patient was taken to St. George with mild to moderate injuries.”
The vehicle’s front and side airbags deployed and its front passenger wheel was flattened.
With the vehicle resting on the dirt shoulder of the highway, traffic was not blocked, Hunt said.
