'Eat for Heat' brunch helps give winter heating assistance - UpperMichigansSource.com

GLADSTONE, Mich. (WLUC) - Members of Gladstone’s Memorial United Methodist Church gave back to the community on Sunday by raising money to help Delta County residents heat their homes during the winter.

Church members held their annual “Eat for Heat” brunch after church services, with donations going to the Saint Vincent de Paul’s Heat Fund and the Delta County Community Action Agency's Walk for Warmth fundraiser.

Pastor Cathy Rafferty says the brunch is a great way for every church member, regardless of age or ability, to contribute to the community.

"By looking where the actual needs of people are and making a difference, then I think we're carrying the Gospel into the world by providing heat for somebody that's cold, and food for somebody that's hungry,” Rafferty said.
