ST. GEORGE — Southern Utahns and other motorists headed south on Interstate 15 into Arizona should expect daytime delays this week, according to a news release issued Monday morning by the Arizona Department of Transportation. Northbound travel also will be affected.

Lane restrictions on I-15 in far northwestern Arizona will be implemented Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, to allow crews to place the top layer of pavement on the new Virgin River Bridge No. 1 approaches and departures.
The following restrictions will be in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:
- I-15 will be reduced to one lane in each direction on the bridge.
- Drivers should be prepared to slow down and merge over while moving through the work zone.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph in the work zone.
- There will be an 11-foot vehicle-width restriction in place.
- The restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours.
On Thursday, June 6, and Friday, June 7, crews will perform spot pavement repairs along I-15 at the following locations:
- Northbound I-15 at mileposts 3.5 and 6.5.
- Southbound I-15 at mileposts 19, 12.5 and 11.
- Drivers should be prepared to slow down and merge over while moving through the work zone. There will be an 11-foot vehicle-width restriction in place.
