Biryani is one of the most beloved dishes for a lot of people. Foodies love gorging on different styles of biryani inspired by different regions and it is one dish that mostly everyone loves. However, a recent viral video shows a slight alteration to the flavoured rice dish and it is not going down well with netizens.
Pushpek Sidhu, a content creator who lives in Toronto, posted the video that shows someone preparing biryani that is claimed to be the “healthier version”. The person in the video, apparently a Brit, is seen preparing chicken biryani by adding strawberries and potatoes.
He only adds turmeric as he says that is the only spice he can handle and then boils the mixture for 10 minutes. He then adds the cooked ‘biryani’ onto a white plate and serves it with a buttered piece of bread. “This is NOT how you make chicken biryani,” Sidhu captioned the post.

Posted two days ago, the clip has garnered 4.10 lakh views. It prompted a lot of comments from users who were left disgusted by this recipe.
“Did he just cook this abomination just to troll an entire subcontinent?” a user said. “Do not let the british people cook,” wrote another. “I almost actually cried,” posted a third. “Why haven’t you credited the original creator? I just want to report it for terrorism,” another person commented. “They ruled for 200 years and they still don’t know how to cook, they can’t handle it and in the name of spice that one puts just turmeric and ugh the insult,” another netizen expressed.
