A former US marine celebrated his 63rd birthday with a giant fast-food feast on Death Row– before receiving a lethal injection for the “torture” murder of his girlfriend's three-year-old son.
Killer Richard Fairchild, was declared dead at 10:24 am this morning (Thursday November 17) at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Local news site station KOCO reported that Fairchild gorged on two Quarter Pounders with cheese, a large tub of fries, a large Coca-Cola, a pumpkin pie and a pint of chocolate ice cream, before his execution.

Fairchild was convicted of killing Adam Broomhall, the son of his girlfriend Stacy Broomhall, on November 14 1993.
Police Lt. Phil Taylor said shortly after Fairchild's arrest, that the ex-marine had confessed on videotape to killing the child.
Fairchild, said he had spent the night drinking alcohol and lost his temper with Adam after discovering that the boy had wet the bed.
He held the child against a searingly-hot heater, before slamming him into a table.
Adam never regained consciousness and died later that day from blunt force trauma to the head.
When he realise what he had done, he called the police.
When officers arrived at the home Fairchild shared with his girlfriend , they found Adam unconscious, covered in bruises.
Fairchild’s defence team argued that he had been abused as a child, was mentally ill and was sorry for his actions.
In a statement to the Pardon and Parole Board, Emma Rolls, one of Fairchild’s attorneys wrote: “As Richard Fairchild’s brain has deteriorated, he has descended into psychosis, a fact well-documented in his prison records"
“Yet despite having lost touch with reality," she added, "Richard remains remorseful for his crime and continues to have an unblemished prison record. There is no principled reason for Oklahoma to execute him.”
In a counter-plea, prosecutors from the Oklahoma attorney general's office wrote: "The method of Adam's murder can only be described as torture".
Fairchild’s lawyers filed last-minute appeals with Oklahoma’s Court of Criminal Appeals and the US Supreme Court, but both courts denied his requests.
