Is there anything not to love about the Girl Scouts? If you have a decadent sweet tooth, you might adore them even more when you read this: The Girl Scouts of the USA just announced a bold new flavor for their 2022 Girl Scout cookie lineup. Here's what you can order come January (along with a pretty mouth-watering image of the new addition!).
This week, the Girl Scouts organization revealed "Adventurefuls" as the new Girl Scout goodie debuting this coming cookie season. What to expect? They describe the Adventureful as "an indulgent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt" that deliver both smooth and crispy textures.
If you're familiar with the Girl Scouts, perhaps it's no surprise that the new flavor's theme centers on courage and trying new things. In fact, the organization explains that they've historically designed the cookie-selling process so it "fuels local Girl Scouts' adventures throughout the year: exploring what interests them, discovering their passions, and taking action on issues they care about."
Over the past year and a half, some Girl Scout troops demonstrated that kind of inventiveness by forging new cookie-selling strategies amid COVID-19 social distancing complications. Lucky for some cookie lovers, that led to more permanent ways you can get your hands on your favorite box. As one example, the Girl Scouts now partner with GrubHub for online delivery sales. And, we wouldn't let you look forward to the classic winter Girl Scout cookie season without some scoop on the Adventurefuls' nutrition info. According to the Girl Scouts' site, a two-cookie serving of this brownie-cookie contains 120 calories, 6 grams of fat (3.5 grams saturated fat), 80 milligrams of sodium, 16 grams of carbohydrates, 9 grams of sugar (all as "added sugar"), and one gram of protein.
A treat to be sure, but hey… if you eat a cookie or two just occasionally, this is a guilty pleasure that could do a lot of good.
