FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A person is now without a home after a fire broke out Wednesday evening in Fresno.
The Fresno Fire Department says responders were called to a mobile home fire around 5:30 p.m. near Sierra and Blackstone.
When they arrived, they noticed that the mobile home was taken over by both fire and smoke.
One person, firefighters say, was in the home and was able to get out, along with one cat.
Sadly, however, several kittens were left inside the burning home and died.
The Fresno Fire Department says the cause was likely a cooking fire.
They say the person inside the home was cooking bacon and left it unattended for roughly three minutes before the fire broke out.

That person’s mobile home was destroyed as a result and must now live with family for the meantime.
