Cooking up message of hope - HOI ABC

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Some local women were handing out free homecooked meals to people experiencing homelessness this week, but only on one condition.

Those wanting a meal had to read a message about spreading love throughout the community in honor of all innocent lives that have been lost.

Tina Foley said it requires more energy to hate rather than to love one another.

"I cooked homecooked meals in memory of everybody who have lost their lives in the City of Peoria, or really anywhere to bring a little sprinkle of love as opposed to all the violence that's going on in the community. I think it's important," said Foley.

She cooked 50 catfish and spaghetti meals, with the help of some other women.

They were able to give out all of the meals to those who needed it, while at the same time spread a feeling of hope and love.
