If it seems as if Brandi Carlile hasn’t slowed down since 2018’s “By the Way, I Forgive You” sent her career into a higher Grammy-collecting gear, it’s probably because she hasn’t. That may change in 2024, with the album cycle around her bar-raising follow-up “In These Silent Days” now firmly in the rearview.

At the very least, the hometown hero will have one less major gig off her plate this year: Carlile’s annual Echoes Through the Canyon concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre will not take place in 2024.

The memoir-penning rock star first broke the news Thursday in a live chat with fan club members. Carlile’s reps confirmed that Echoes is indeed off this year and that Carlile plans to return to the Gorge in 2025.

For four COVID-interrupted years, Carlile’s annual Gorge trek has been a highlight of Washington’s summer concert season. The familial home state shows have highlighted the folk rocker’s collaborative spirit, inviting artist friends in her ever-expanding orbit to get in on the action. Returning from a pandemic hiatus in 2021, Echoes Through the Canyon sparked the first local Soundgarden reunion since frontman Chris Cornell’s death and conjured Lilith Fair vibes the following year, nodding to Carlile’s formative experiences there as a fan.

And then there was last year’s impossible-to-top weekend, when Echoes Through the Canyon stretched out into three unforgettable nights bookended by rare performances from Joni Mitchell and The Highwomen.

Despite Echoes taking a year off, Carlile’s other annual destination weekend gigs are still on the books, with Carlile and crew heading to Mexico for next week’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend, Jan. 18-21, and her Mothership Weekend hitting Miramar Beach, Fla., May 10-12.

Elsewhere, Carlile has a chance to add to her Grammy collection next month, as she’s up for two awards for her duets with fellow Washingtonian Brandy Clark (“Dear Insecurity”) and Miley Cyrus (“Thousand Miles”). The award show takes place Feb. 4 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.
